Electric forklift trucks as efficient support in the warehouse

Whether in industrial warehouses, logistics and dispatch warehouses or for loading and unloading containers, lorries and vans - forklift trucks are essential for in-house transportation. There is no longer just a choice of models with gas or diesel engines, but also with electric drives. "Electric forklift trucks are particularly suitable for indoor areas such as warehouses, odour-sensitive areas such as food processing plants or noise-sensitive workplaces such as laboratories. Thanks to zero emissions, electric forklift trucks also protect the health of your own employees. There are now many models in different sizes and with different load capacities - which are of course also available in several price segments. It is important to find the right product for individual operational needs," says Jürgen Effner, Managing Director of TOPREGAL GmbH, adding: "Even electric forklift trucks in the affordable entry-level segment up to £10,000 offer efficient support in the warehouse. However, companies should carefully consider aspects such as maximum load capacity, lifting height, charging time, and spare parts availability before making a purchase."

Compact model with high mobility

Compact electric forklift trucks simplify loading and unloading processes considerably, especially in small businesses and workshops that regularly deliver or receive goods. Before making a purchase, however, it is important to consider what loads the forklift truck will be moving, whether materials are to be transported to higher storage areas and how much space is available in the warehouse for manoeuvring. "With the GSE12/4 3-wheel electric forklift truck, we have deliberately designed a model that is characterized by its compactness and high mobility. This little powerhouse is suitable for loads of up to 1,200 kilograms and has a lift range of 30 to 4,350 millimetres. This means that higher storage levels can also be reached, optimising storage capacity and increasing efficiency. In addition, the turning radius is just 1,508 millimetres thanks to the 3-wheel vehicle design," reports Effner. This means that turning in tight spaces or between rows of shelves is also possible - and with dimensions of 900 millimetres wide and heights between 1,995 and 5,150 millimetres, passing through standard doors and gates is also no problem. What's more, the GSE12/4 even fits into most goods lifts.

Advantages of lithium-ion batteries

Like all electric lifting devices from SolidHub, the GSE12/4 also runs on a lithium-ion battery. In addition, the electric forklift truck can be charged at standard 230 V household sockets and does not require high-voltage power. Once charged, its 280 Ah storage capacity provides 4 to 6 hours of operation. "In contrast to conventional lead-acid batteries, Li-ion batteries offer several advantages. They can be charged in less time, which reduces downtime during operation. They also have a longer service life than lead-acid batteries, which results in lower maintenance costs and less frequent replacement. This is because, unlike lead-acid batteries, Li-ion batteries do not need to be regularly topped up with distilled water. They also contain no heavy metals and are more environmentally friendly to dispose of," explains Effner.

Reliable repair services and spare parts supply

Electric forklift trucks in the affordable price segment can also combine performance, efficiency and compactness. Affordability doesn’t have to mean compromising on quality. "Like any machinery, electric forklift trucks can occasionally experience technical issues. In such cases, reliable technical services and a robust spare parts supply are invaluable," says Effner and adds: "We maintain a stock of the most important spare parts for our products, such as the GSE12/4, ensuring delivery times of no more than 48 hours in most cases."
