Trusses

The term "traverse" comes from the French. It is translated as "cross brace" or "cross beam". In engineering, it refers to a connecting piece for absorbing forces. In racking systems, cross beams are the actual load carriers. For the Pallet racking from TOPREGAL are 180cm, 270cm and 360cm wide trusses with storage space for two, three and four Euro pallets available.

One speaks of trusses in other contexts as well, for example in fortress construction as an accumulation of earth or masonry on a rampart. Spectator trusses are step-like arrangements of benches in large stadiums. In alpine sports, a crossbar is used to refer to a crossway. It is also called the Title of a German-French history magazine and in Edinburgh there is a Traverse Theatre.
