Drive-in warehouse
A drive-in warehouse is a rack with an open operating side into which the Industrial truck can drive in (drive-in rack) and set down the goods (usually stored on a pallet) before the last stack of goods. It is stored according to the LIFO principle ("Last In - First Out"), since the last unit stored is picked up first.
Drive-in warehouses are suitable for large quantities of non-stackable goods. Only one article or one batch is stored in each rack aisle. The advantage of a high storage density contrasts with an overall slow access to the stored goods.
